Cannock Chase Trekking Centre


Cannock chase trekking centre is a relaxed and friendly environment, where Lisa and her team can provide a memorable trek through the spectacular countryside of Cannock chase. No previous horse riding experience is needed. The centre has an extensive selection of horses and ponies for riders of all age ranges and abilities.

2010 prices:
Trek riders need to be aged 7 or over, for 4 to 7 year olds a half hour paddock ride is available - £15
One hour treks which are popular with our beginner riders are. The trek will be at a walk or walk and trot - £26
Two hour mixed ability trek where both novice and experienced riders can be together. The trek will be at a walk and trot and for the more experienced rider there will be an opportunity to canter - £38
Two hour experienced trek where it is essential to be competent at all paces and physically fit - £38

Go Ape





Bring Out Your Inner Ape!
Think you, your friends and family can handle 3 hours of tree top adventure? Are you wild enough to climb 30ft up a rope ladder, Tarzan Swing into a giant rope net then zip wire through trees, crawl through tunnels and tackle high wire rope bridges? If the answer’s yes, you’re ready to Go Ape.

Min Age: 10 years
Min height: 1.40m / 4 feet 7 inches
Max weight: 130kg / 20.5 stone

Under 18yr olds must be supervised by a participating adult. One participating adult can supervise EITHER two under 18 year olds (where one or both children are 10-15 years old) OR up to five 16-17 year olds.

Incarace Hednesford Raceway
Hednesford Hills Raceway is the biggest and fastest Stockcar track in the UK, featuring around 20 exciting race meetings every year.

Events range from Banger racing spectaculars to demolition Derbies and Hot Rod racing, fantastic fun for all the family.
Events generally take place on Sundays, but Bank Holiday Monday events are a favourite.

Tickets can be bought on arrival and admission includes free grandstands, car parking and souvenir raceday programme.

Route to Health Sculpture Trail
 

The Route to Health Sculpture Trail is a partnership project between the Forestry Commission, Cannock Chase District Council and Cannock Chase Primary Care Trust. The trail has been created by local artists, students, schools and community groups. The unique art pieces are all themed around health issues and are designed to generate interest in areas such as exercise, relaxation, mental health and a healthy heart. Created by volunteers and visited by thousands of people each season, the trail is truly worth a visit. The 'new look' Route to Health trail was opened on Sunday 11th October 2009.


 
Swinnerton Cycle Centre
 

 

Swinnerton Cycle Centre is the focal point for cycling on Cannock Chase. The centre is the starting point for cycle routes including the 'Follow the Dog' technical route. Experts are on hand who can provide information, tuition for all abilities, tips on service and maintenance, hire facilities, bike wash and much, much more.

Heritage Trail
     

Through Cannock Chase Heritage Trail we are now able to bring our heritage to life.

To experience the history and beauty of Cannock Chase, why not take a walk or cycle along the Cannock Chase Heritage Trail? The 10 mile trail, suitable for walkers and cyclists, and mostly accessible for wheelchairs, takes in the historic sites of the area, as well as providing the chance to explore the beautiful landscape of Cannock Chase. You can find out more and pick up a leaflet for this Heritage Lottery Funded trail from the Museum of Cannock Chase, which provides an information hub for the trail.
