The Council Tax is a property based tax which is payable on most domestic dwellings.
A dwelling is usually a house or a flat but it also includes other types of property where people live such as a houseboat, a caravan, or a "granny flat" for instance.
Some of the Council Tax collected by the District Council is used to pay for local services which we provide. The remainder is collected on behalf of Staffordshire County Council, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service and in some cases Parish Councils.
