Environmental Monitoring

The Environmental Health Department undertakes regular environmental monitoring to evaluate trends over time, and site specific monitoring to help determine whether issues such as noise or vibration from specific sources are problematic.

Air Quality Monitoring

Monitoring is undertaken to support the review and assessment of air quality under the local air quality management regime (‘LAQM’). Results are summarised in the LAQM reports, which can be found on this website.

Automatic air quality monitoring is undertaken at a site adjacent to the A5 in Bridgtown, Detailed results can be downloaded from the Uk Air Quality Website

We also undertake ‘diffusion tube’ monitoring, which provides monthly average results for a number of sites through out the district. Results can be downloaded from the DEFRA Website

Weather Monitoring

We monitor weather conditions to assist us in our investigations. For example, to trace the origins of odour complaints. Data is available for public use from this link
